"Vimto" (smudgey)

So myself and a buddy of mine have started going on fairly frequent roadtrips from our homes to just about anywhere within a few hours' reach just because we both love driving and seeing the country.
We typically switch driver/passenger roles every other trip, so I will drive us in my 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis, and then the next time he will drive us in his 2013 Honda Civic EX.
The question is, given the option of both, which would you use? The Civic boasts 35 MPG and a sunroof, but the Mercury has cosseting couches for seats and ample torque for effortless cruising.

The car that was built for the comfort of the elderly. The Mercury. Any day. Any condition.

The Mercury. My 1997 would still get 26 mpg on the road, with 150k on the odo. Assume yours will do about the same. Give up that much comfort for 9 mpg? Not me.
